Dan Johnson Photography is Dan and Ann, two people who photograph weddings. That's us pictured late one night in a car park in Texas, brain dead after four days and nights at the most intensive workshop in the world for wedding photojournalists.
Married to each other and working together for 29 years now, we've spent the last 10 of those shooting about 400 weddings and civil partnerships as full-time professional wedding photographers, at venues ranging from the Houses of Parliament to a little village hall in the French Alps. That's given us enough experience to cope with anything the day might throw at us, but not so much that the passion's gone.
Nowadays we avoid burnout by shooting just 25 weddings a year, all of which we book without advertising, attending wedding fairs or paying kickback to venues to recommend us. We're totally focused on taking the best pictures - not on taking over the show on the day or taking as much money as possible off you after it.
We do other things differently too, from not bigging ourselves up through to not expecting you to feed us at your wedding. And the always wearing black? Well, it's smart, it's practical, and if we do happen to get in each other's shot, we don't stand out as much as we otherwise might have done.
And besides, it makes it so much easier to decide what to wear to your wedding.
